Meet The Founders
Allison felt a call to start Alegria Home long before it's inception. With a passion for all things beautiful, a love for international travel, and a fascination with textiles from indigenous cultures she knew she'd start a company that combined these three passions. Majoring in Surface Pattern Design and minoring in Textile Design and Fashion Design at Syracuse University she landed a job designing bedding for a home textiles retailer in New York after graduation. Before her move to Mexico Allison worked with some of the best home textiles companies in the country for nearly a decade where she learned the intricacies of product development and trend driven home decor design. She brings this expertise to Alegria Home, marrying indigenous techniques with modern designs in a unique and beautiful way.
Craig spent years working for a large consulting firm in NYC which ultimately led to a move to Mexico City for a two year assignment with his firm and where Alegria Home was born. During these two years in Mexico, Craig became fluent in Spanish which enabled Alegria Home to find and create important relationships with many indigenous artisans throughout the country. Craig holds a BS in Accounting and Finance from Syracuse University and is currently enrolled in the MBA/MA joint degree program at the Wharton School and the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania.
